Street Light Outage

- Description
- On the Paul Dudley White bike path along the south shore of the Charles River parallel to Storrow Drive, between the BU Bridge and the Harvard/Mass Ave bridge, the streetlight attached to the side of an overpass is out. As the path goes west from the Mass Ave bridge, past the two pillars supporting the overpass, the streetlight that is out is the one attached to a solid wall, where the path separates from the overpass and enters a wider linear park near Boston University. When it's on, this streetlight gives partial illumination to a sharp turn with low visibility, and after sundown (currently a high-volume time for commuters on bikes and on foot) the area is completely pitch black without that streetlight. Streetlights from nearby roads do not reach this part of the bike path, so any person in the path who isn't carrying some kind of light is almost completely invisible, much more so than on other parts of the bike path. I recently saw a collision at this turn where a cyclist who took a sharp turn to avoid pedestrians fell and seemed badly injured, so it seems likely more collisions will happen soon if the light isn't fixed. Thanks for your help.
