- Hello, the tree in front of 11 Dunster Road, Jamaica Plain, 02130, seems to have significant termite or carpenter ant infestation in trunk/roots. The wood is spongy and the tree is a large cavity that has been filling with water. Branches have started to die and drop. Concern is that water will collect and freeze, weakening sick tree further. Someone came to look at it, but have not heard back. Can this tree be removed before winter sets in? It looks sick and damaged. It’s very close to house so we are concerned if it is becoming hazardous. Thank you.
