Noted. As stated in numerous prior case closure notes regarding this public shade tree. The tree is alive and healthy and cannot be removed for the reasons you are requesting it be removed for. All public street trees in the City of Boston and the state of Massachusetts are protected by state law (MGL CH 87). In the City of Boston, public trees are also protected by the Public Tree Ordinance which passed by the Boston City Council. Both MGL CH87 and the Public Tree Ordinance prevent the removal of a live public shade tree. There are currently 2 open sidewalk repair cases for this location. Case #101006237211 & #101006083193. The repair of sidewalks is handled by the Public Works Department, not the Urban Forestry Division. If you would like an update regarding the status of the repair of the sidewalk please contact Public Works Highway Division at 617-635-4900.
