- Description
- I am a resident in the South End and am reporting a safety concern involving a dog containment fence bordering a shared alley. The alley is a common access area that runs behind multiple residences and is regularly used by residents and their dogs. A large dog in a fenced yard directly adjacent to the alley, located in the rear of 119 Appleton Street, repeatedly charges, barks, growls, and slams into the fence separating the yard from the alley whenever residents walk by with their dogs. The fence appears to be old and in poor condition. Several boards are loose, and the boards visibly move when the dog impacts the fence. I am concerned that the fence may not be adequate to safely contain the dog and that the dog could enter the shared alley if the fence fails. Because of the location of this yard in the alley, I cannot reasonably avoid the area and have become afraid to use the shared alley. I am requesting that the situation be reviewed to determine whether the fence is sufficient to safely contain the dog and whether any corrective action is needed. I would appreciate it if my identity and contact information could be kept confidential to the extent permitted by law, as I live directly across from this property and am concerned about potential conflict with neighbors.
