- 🚨🚨 ATTENTION ATTENTION Boston Parks and Recreation Department (parks@boston.gov)Boston 311 (311@boston.gov)To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the appalling, dangerous, and neglected conditions at the Tebroc Playground children's park located Bowdion Street or Cross Streets Blakeville Street in Dorchester. On June 24, 2026, I walked past this community space and was deeply shaken by what I witnessed. The park is in a completely condemned state, yet both entrance gates remain wide open, posing an immediate physical and health hazard to local children. Due to the unusable conditions inside, children were forced to play outside the perimeter of the park.During my visit, I documented the following severe violations and safety hazards:Pest and Biohazards: Overflowing garbage cans swarming with insects and visible rodent droppings throughout the play area.Dangerous Litter: Discarded beer cans, broken glass, and other hazardous articles scattered across the ground where children walk and play.Dilapidated Equipment: A broken slide and filthy, unmaintained play structures that present an immediate risk of physical injury.Severe Overgrowth: Extensive overgrown weeds and neglected landscaping covering the property. This level of structural neglect and administrative oversight is entirely unacceptable. It is a direct disservice to the families of Dorchester and leaves members of this community feeling disenfranchised and dismissed by the city. Every child in Boston deserves a safe, clean, and dignified place to play, regardless of their neighborhood.I demand that the Boston Parks and Recreation Department immediately dispatch a sanitation and maintenance crew to address these hazards, secure the broken equipment, and restore this park to a safe condition.I have attached photographic evidence of these conditions to this email for your immediate review. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and provide an estimated timeline for when cleanup and repairs will begin.Sincerely,
