- Description
- Subject: Complaint Regarding Graphic/Disturbing Signage Displayed in Public Park To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to report an issue regarding graphic and disturbing imagery being displayed at Boston Common on August 2nd, Sunday. Demonstrators in the park are displaying signs with explicit, graphic medical imagery. This is a family-friendly public area with many young children present, and visitors—especially children—should not be exposed to such inappropriate and graphic content in a public park space. Please find the attached photo showing the signage and the location. I request that the city review whether these displays comply with park guidelines and public decency regulations regarding graphic content in child-friendly public areas. The individuals holding sign also harassing people and families in the park. Thank you for your time and prompt attention to this matter. Sincerely.

Resolved. This was a weekend campaign that was not permitted by the Parks Department.
The protesters were within their first amendment rights to do what they did.
It was responded to by Parks Senior Staff, Park Rangers and Boston Police Department, Boston Police stayed on scene to monitor the protest. Thank you.
