Domestic Animal Issue

Description: 47 Newcastle road #3 has two air tagged black cats that roam freely and are becoming a nuisance to the neighborhood. They have killed many small animals (estimating at least a few kills every week since I typically observe at least one myself). One of them knocked a mourning dove nest off our porch that has been there for at least four years and ran off with the bird in its mouth in late spring. The dove’s mate hung out on the porch alone for weeks. I have observed the owner prying animals out of his cat’s mouth and throwing it on the ground still alive and suffering. Earlier this summer one of them attacked my leashed pet from the bushes after it was startled around a corner on the sidewalk while we were on a walk. And one of the cats nearly froze to death stuck in a neighbor’s tree overnight on January 2nd-3rd 2026. The owner has no interest in heeding requests from his neighbors to keep his cats inside. So, I’m requesting animal control to tell the owners to keep their cats indoor or leash them as they are harming our local wildlife and have attacked leashed pets.
