- GAS LEAK! National Grid is ignoring the neighborhood on a huge issue on Minot Street. There is a gas leak that they’ve ignored for years - they now continuously come out (when we call) and check our basements but still don’t fix the problem. The gas smell now is so strong - we can’t open our windows on some days as the smell just blows straight through - They came about six months ago and said the leak was bad / they drilled holes to vent it and said they would be back later to fix the problem - the gas is pouring out. Strangers walking by our houses knock on doors to tell us or call themselves to report - it’s scary. I called again and national grid came out checked my basement for the 100th time and said “this was all over their pay grade” it’s unacceptable. Two weeks ago they came out and they confirmed the gas leak was very bad / they promised they would pull a permit and fix it - they did pull the permit - the put cones everywhere like they were going to fix it and then their trucks pulled up and they did nothing! Nothing!!! Gas continues to leak - we called for help again today / they said keep calling - they had no supervisors - the team that showed up was getting paid hanging on their cell phones. NO WORK DONE. Nothing. This is so dangerous. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have asked for supervisors to call / any higher ups - nothing. We are being completely ignored - this needs to be fixed and now/ the permit they pulled for last week must still be open as no work was done / come back and do the work.
