Description: TO: City of Boston – Parks and Recreation Department / Public Works (Street Lighting Division) VIA: BOS:311 Service Request System DATE: August 20, 2026 SUBJECT: Service Request – Malfunctioning Field Light Fixture at Wilson Field (Harambee Park) Issue Details Category: Park Light Outage / Park Maintenance Location: Harambee Park – Franklin Field / Wilson Field (15 Talbot Ave, Dorchester, MA 02124) Specific Equipment: Light pole fixture located along the third-base baseline/outfield perimeter of Wilson Field. Observed Problem: The upper fixture on the designated pole is failing to illuminate during evening operational hours (flickering continuously before shutting off completely). Safety Concerns: The outage creates a significant dark patch on the field, posing a safety hazard for evening community sports leagues and reducing overall park visibility. Requested Action Dispatch a maintenance crew from the Parks and Recreation Department or Public Works Street Lighting Division to inspect the electrical connection, ballast, or bulb of the affected fixture. Replace or repair the fixture to restore proper illumination to Wilson Field for safe community use.
