- Public Drinking, Littering, and Aggressive Behavior at Ronan Park I am reporting an ongoing quality-of-life issue involving public drinking, littering, and aggressive behavior at Ronan Park in Dorchester. Beer cans, bottles, and empty beer boxes are routinely left behind in the park and surrounding public spaces. This has become a recurring problem that negatively impacts the cleanliness, safety, and overall quality of life for residents and park visitors. There have also been instances where individuals have responded aggressively or confrontationally when asked to pick up their trash. This behavior is concerning and makes residents uncomfortable addressing the issue directly. This problem has been reported numerous times, but little to no action appears to have been taken to address the recurring public drinking, littering, and associated behavior. The issue has continued and has become increasingly difficult for nearby residents and park users. I am requesting that the Boston Police Department, particularly the C-11 District, increase patrols and enforcement at Ronan Park, especially during the times when these activities commonly occur. I am also requesting that clear signs be posted throughout Ronan Park in both English and Spanish reminding visitors that public drinking and littering are prohibited and instructing them to properly dispose of their trash. Providing information in both languages would help ensure that the rules are clearly understood by all park visitors. Requested action: Increased patrols and enforcement related to public drinking, littering, and disorderly or aggressive behavior; follow-up regarding the repeated complaints that have already been submitted; and the installation of bilingual English and Spanish signs throughout Ronan Park.
