- I am filing a formal complaint regarding the excessive noise and severe vibrations caused by the construction taking place directly across from my residence. The construction activity begins as early as 7:00 AM and occurs on a daily basis. The level of noise and vibration is excessive and has become extremely disruptive to my ability to sleep and rest in my own home. The vibrations are strong enough to be physically noticeable inside my residence, and the constant construction noise has made it extremely difficult to get adequate sleep. I work overnight shifts, making daytime sleep essential. Being subjected to this level of noise and vibration every morning has become unbearable and has caused significant stress and episodes of anxiety. I am effectively unable to rest in my own home due to the ongoing construction activity. I respectfully request that the City investigate this situation and determine whether the construction is complying with all applicable noise regulations, permitted working hours, and other relevant requirements. At a minimum, I strongly urge the City to consider requiring the construction crew to delay the start of particularly disruptive work by at least a couple of hours, especially work involving heavy machinery, demolition, or activities that cause significant vibrations. It is simply not reasonable or fair for residents to be expected to endure this level of disruption for months on end in their own homes solely for the benefit of a private construction project. Residents should not have to sacrifice their sleep, mental well-being, and quality of life because a developer or property owner has the financial means to carry out a major construction project. This situation is having a serious impact on my health, sleep, and quality of life. I ask that the City take this complaint seriously, conduct an appropriate inspection, and take whatever action is necessary to ensure that nearby residents are not subjected to unreasonable and prolonged disruption.
