Litter & Debris

- Description
- I am requesting that the City of Boston clean up the wooded area between Clougherty Pool and the Woods Place neighborhood. This area has become an eyesore and a significant safety concern. People using the pool appear to be throwing or dumping trash into the wooded area, including diapers, clothing, bottles, and other debris. There is also a significant amount of broken glass, which is especially concerning given that this area is immediately adjacent to a public swimming pool and is accessible to children. There is also a rope that appears to be providing a way for people to climb into the pool, creating an additional safety and security concern. The bottom end of this wooded area remains open, making it very easy for people to enter the area and access the pool. Additionally, during the construction of Clougherty Pool, the City removed a substantial number of trees from this area. Much of the resulting tree branches and other construction debris were left behind, and the area has never been properly cleaned up. The combination of the leftover debris, accumulated trash, and downed branches has left this section looking neglected. I am asking the City to: * Remove all trash, including diapers, clothing, bottles, and other debris * Remove the broken glass and thoroughly inspect the area for additional hazardous materials * Remove the branches and debris left from the pool construction * Investigate and remove the rope being used to access the pool Photos are attached showing the current condition of the area.
