Description
Housing / Inspectional Services complaint — Unsatisfactory Living Conditions (State Sanitary Code 105 CMR 410, windows not weathertight). Rental unit: 493-495 Commonwealth Ave, Unit 7, Boston MA 02215. Managed by Boston Property Services, LLC (617-274-8655). On 8/31/2026 I submitted maintenance request #25383-1 because my bedroom window was very difficult to open and the seal/insulation strip in the frame was loose and coming out. The windows in the living room space have the same seal/insulation problems and are also not weathertight. About a week later a technician removed the cracked sealing material from the bedroom window frame, said he would return with replacement material, and has not come back. The frame has been left with no seal for roughly two weeks. The room is now significantly hotter than the rest of the unit and loud street noise comes straight through the open frame, making it hard to sleep. I emailed the property manager on 9/14/2026 and have received no response and no repair date. I am requesting an ISD Housing inspection so the windows can be ordered repaired and made weathertight.
