Sidewalk Repair

Description: Reporting a cracked and settled section of public sidewalk directly in front of 199 W 8th Street in South Boston. The sidewalk sits flush against the building's foundation. During heavy rain, water pools against the foundation and is causing water intrusion into the building. I'm not certain whether the primary problem is the cracked concrete itself or the grading/slope of the sidewalk, but the current condition is directing rainwater toward the foundation instead of away from it. Requesting that Public Works inspect the sidewalk panel and repair/replace it, restoring proper grade so it pitches toward the street.
