Description
Intersection of Centre St and VFW Parkway is unsafe for pedestrians. Drivers coming down Centre St, from the Faulkner Hospital, toward West Roxbury. A large percentage of drivers turning right onto the VFW Parkway ignore the red light at the intersection and proceed onto the the VFW without stopping. An elderly driver came very close to hitting myself and young son in the crosswalk today despite us having the walk sign. Is there anything structural we can do at this intersection to make it safer? Different/more obvious lights? A police presence on the VFW to penalize (likely not a long term solution). There are multiple schools in the area and families that walk home this way.
