- 2ND REQUEST - Closed Ticket #BCS-00333567 Follow-up (includes photos). A city hired subcontractor replaced the sidewalk aat the corner of my house. When they layed the new concrete the contractor lowered the sidewalk by about 6 inches which left huges gaps between the retaining wall of my property and the sidewalk, leaving it open to both water damage and a potential rodent issue. Someone closed my ticket stating that the "Homeowner" has to handle the repair personally. As you can see from the photos included with the ticket the orginal caulking is hanging from the original height where the sidewalk used to meet my property. Now they are telling me I am responsible to make repairs and pay the cost? How is that right? Why do I have to pay to fix a poorly completed repair? I saw one of the Public Works vehicles here with a level tool on the concrete and no one noticed the sizable gap between the new concrete and the edge of my building, along with the holes and gaps? It took me a moment to notice because I mainly use my rear entrance into the parking area. I would appreciate if someone could make there way out here to review this sidewalk and speak with me. Please ring doorbell #2 at the front door and I would be happy to walk them through this.
