Utility Contractor Complaints current
- Description
- It has been approximately two weeks since the roadway on Talbot Avenue, between Wells Avenue and Dorchester Avenue, was milled in preparation for repaving, yet no further work appears to have been completed. The prolonged delay is creating significant issues for neighborhood residents, including excessive dust, poor air quality, and parking difficulties. I have respiratory problems, and the amount of dust being kicked up by passing vehicles has made it difficult for me to walk along the street, wait at the bus stop, or even enjoy my own home. I live on the third floor, and the dust is so excessive that I cannot comfortably open my windows or sit outside on my porch. This is not just an inconvenience; it is a public health and quality-of-life concern, particularly for residents with respiratory conditions, children, and older adults. I understand that roadwork can cause temporary disruptions, but leaving a heavily traveled residential roadway in this condition for weeks without completing the repaving is unacceptable. I am requesting an update on when the roadway will be repaved and what immediate measures the City will take to control the dust and minimize the impact on residents until the work is completed.
