Description
I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the unacceptable and unprofessional trash collection service on Saratoga Street in East Boston. Due to Monday’s holiday, trash collection was pushed back by one day, with pickup expected on Wednesday, October 14. However, while the opposite side of Saratoga Street had its trash collected, multiple houses on our side of the street were completely skipped. This is absolutely unacceptable. Residents followed the adjusted collection schedule and placed their trash outside as instructed, only for sanitation workers to leave an entire section of the street without service. This is not just an inconvenience. It is a serious sanitation concern. Residents already have significant amounts of household waste, and leaving trash uncollected creates the potential for overflowing bins, foul odors, rodents, pests, and unsanitary conditions around people’s homes. It is extremely frustrating that one side of the street received service while the other was neglected. Residents should not have to suffer because of inconsistent or incomplete collection services. We pay taxes and expect basic city services to be performed properly and professionally. I am requesting immediate trash collection for all affected properties on Saratoga Street, along with an explanation as to why multiple homes were skipped. I also request that this issue be reviewed with the sanitation department to prevent it from happening again. Leaving residents with accumulating garbage is unacceptable, unsanitary, and demonstrates a serious lack of accountability. This situation needs to be corrected immediately, not left unresolved until the next scheduled collection day.
