Description
I am reporting extremely loud and disruptive overnight construction noise near State Street in downtown Boston. At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, repeated explosive-sounding bangs and heavy mechanical noises are occurring in bursts lasting several minutes. The impacts are so powerful that I can physically feel vibrations throughout my fifth-floor apartment. The noise is significantly disrupting my ability to sleep, and I am concerned about the intensity of the vibrations affecting nearby residential buildings. I cannot identify the exact source from my apartment, but I suspect nearby street construction or underground utility work. I would appreciate an investigation into the source of the disturbance, confirmation of whether this work is permitted during overnight hours, and information about the expected duration and schedule of the project.
