Description
I'd like to report an ongoing issue with overgrown trees and bushes around 1277 Commonwealth Avenue 02134, specifically along Spofford Road, 02134 and the back of the property on Glenville Avenue, directly across from 43 Glenville Ave 02134. The trees and bushes are growing into the public sidewalks, taking up walking space and making it difficult for pedestrians to pass safely, especially people with strollers, wheelchairs, or mobility issues. The frustrating part is that this keeps happening. The trees/bushes gets trimmed only after someone reports it and the City of Boston gets involved. Then it grows back, and nothing is done until another complaint is filed. The property owner should be maintaining these areas regularly instead of waiting for the City to step in every time. I'm asking the City to inspect both sides of the property and have the owner trim the vegetation back far enough to keep the sidewalks clear. More importantly, I'd like the City to address the repeated lack of maintenance so residents don't have to keep reporting the same problem. I've attached photos showing the current conditions along both sidewalks. These are public sidewalks, and people should be able to walk through without having to deal with overgrown trees and bushes. This needs to be addressed as an ongoing maintenance issue, not just another one-time trimming request. Thank you.
