- Description
- I am reporting a health and safety concern at Jacques, 79 Broadway, Boston, Massachusetts 02116. I worked there as security until August 2026, and I personally saw the following. A Sunday bartender, who had previously been general manager, brought her dog into the bar and put the dog on the bar counter. The dog bit a bartender who was watching it. I had to remove the dog from him with my boot. That bartender has since passed away, so investigators will not be able to speak with him about the bite. After that bite, management decided no dogs were allowed. Later, after the general manager was fired, that Sunday bartender temporarily became general manager again, until a security employee was hired as general manager. On August 7, 2026, when I went in to get my check and resign, the dog was again in the bar and on the bar counter. I believe the dog is still being brought in on Sundays. I am concerned about sanitation on a bar where drinks are served, and about bite risk to staff and customers. I request follow-up inspection. I wish to remain anonymous. Please do not put my name on this report.
