Description
Why was my 311 report closed? This is a potentially dangerous situation that neither me or my next door neighbor should have to spend any additional monies to correct. When this was done by contracted city of boston, workers and left an absolute disarray. Opened Nov 1, 2026, 1:11 AM20h ago Closed Nov 1, 2026, 8:55 AM13h ago Description On either side of West Milton Place HydePar, MA 2136, specifically between 52 W Milton Street, Hyde Park, MA 02136 and 46 W Milton Street Hyde Park, MA 02136. What’s going on? A crew put in new handicap ramps here, but they left a section of the job completely unfinished and full of trash. This has been left this way for more than two weeks now. • Dirt was never backfilled: The crew dug up the landscaped property right beside the sidewalk to install the ramps, but they never filled the dirt back in. It was left completely uneven instead of being made flush with the concrete, creating a dangerous drop-off. • Construction debris left in the hole: The main concern is that the crew dumped or left behind sharp metal debris and other construction trash right inside this unfilled, open section of dirt. • Cost to constituents: This was a previously landscaped, finished area that was removed by the construction team. The responsibility and cost for backfilling this dirt to make it flush and even should fall entirely on the city or the contractor, not on the affected constituents who are not responsible for what was taken away. It is a major safety hazard to leave open trenches filled with sharp construction debris right next to a brand-new accessible walkway. What needs to be done: Could someone please send a crew out to clear all the metal debris and trash out of the dirt, and properly backfill the area at no expense to the residents so it is flush and even with the sidewalk?
