Request New Markings

Description: St. Mary's St. is a short 1-way connector running from Commonwealth Ave (right at the center of BU's campus) to Montfort St. It is a major commuting connector for BU students -- including cyclists. I recommend putting in a 1-way bike lane running opposite the 1-way car traffic from Montfort to Commonwealth (an example of this street design would be Boylston St. in Jamaica Plain). This would allow commuters biking from the Longwood/Fenway/JP/Emerald Necklace directions to have a direct and safe path to campus, instead of currently having to bike up to the Montfort/Commonwealth intersection (which is very busy and scary on a bike). St. Mary's is quite wide and has plenty of space to accomodate this stripping addition without taking away car lanes or parking spaces. Thank you for your consideration!
