Description: I am submitting an anonymous sanitation complaint regarding Lantera Apartments, located at 125 Guest Street, Boston, MA 02135. The building’s trash chutes have been inoperable since August 2026, resulting in recurring garbage accumulation in trash rooms throughout this approximately 18-story building. With no adequate covered waste receptacles available, residents have no suitable place to dispose of their garbage, leaving bags and other waste directly on the floors. Although management issued a notice on October 23, 2026, acknowledging the issue and implementing temporary cleaning measures, the trash chutes remain out of service as of November 7. Residents have not received a clear timeline for repairs. Despite weekday cleaning, garbage accumulates again by the afternoon, with conditions worsening on weekends. I have photographs taken on different days documenting these conditions and am concerned about potential violations of the Massachusetts State Sanitary Code (105 CMR 410), particularly regarding waste storage, sanitation, and pest prevention. I respectfully request a formal inspection, preferably early in the morning or on weekends when conditions are at their worst, and appropriate corrective action if violations are identified.
