Description
As seen in the pictured open construction van and person halfway in that van, 7 Wellington has active construction happening on Saturday without an active displayed off hours permit. Plus they have illegally taken over parking over parking spaces from 15 to 1 Wellington when their permits only allow 3 spaces. Plus they have set up a construction tent in front of 3 Wellington illegally filling up the sidewalk. Attached photos include latest off hours permit listed in ISD Off Hours construction site. This contractor has repeatedly been doing off hours construction for months, none of which has been warranted per the qualifying categories for Boston off hours permits according to isd's own application guidelines. There is not immediate safety or property threat, it is not time sensitive public utility operations that can't happen in standard business hours, it does not involve institutional operations are critical public services support like hospitals, it is clearly not low impact work when they are spilling out to take over the sidewalk with a tent, and it is nothing related to high impact logistical maneuvers like cranes. There is no justification for this contractor getting so much leeway all the time making the neighborhood association question whether this contractor continuing to get a free pass needs to be brought up to our city council rep or directly with the mayor's office.
