We have received numerous complaints/requests from several abutters asking for the removal of barrels. There will be no reinstallation.

Several citations were written by the code enforcement dept, and the abuse continued. They were removed for this circumstance, no reinstallation at this time.

There is one in the playground but constituent states several residents have dogs and it is in an inconvienent space. Requests the bins are put back. CLOSED #101005270943Noted. Public Works removed the barrels in Beacon Hill. They were severely abused with household trash. It is the dog owners' responsibility to dispose of their waste properly. Several citations were written by Code enforcement division, and the abuse continues. There will be no reinstallation at this time. The barrel at the playground is a Parks Dept issue. Public Works doesn't maintain that barrel.

CLOSED #101005269849Noted. The barrels that you are referring to were installed as a pilot program, which failed. All of the barrels were severely abused by residents with household trash. Code enforcement officers wrote numerous tickets and the abuse continued. Several residents (abutters) asked for the barrels to be removed. Prior to removing the barrels we tried relocating a few to no avail. It's the dogs owners responsibility to dispose of their dogs waste properly. There will be no reinstallation of the barrels at this time.
