  • Planting Request

216-232 Main St, Boston, MA 02129

    CLOSED #BCS-00194277

Resolved. Thank you for your interest in increasing the tree canopy in the City of Boston! In order for the City of Boston's Urban Forestry Division to ensure the success of our new street trees, we require the property owner who directly abuts the sidewalk where the new pit and tree are being requested to be involved in the conversation about a new tree. Therefore, we ask that any New Tree Request for a new pit and tree comes from the actual abutting property owner. Once property ownership is confirmed the Urban Forestry Division can inspect the location for a new tree planting. If you know the property owner of this address, you can ask them to submit a New Tree Request with their contact information and we will be able to inspect the location and discuss any questions that may arise. New Tree Requests can be made via the 311 app, by calling 311, or by contacting the Urban Forestry Division by sending an email to trees@boston.gov or calling 617-635-8733.

Need street to be one way or get speed bumps. Cars speed along to avoid getting "stuck" with a car going opposite direction. Side mirrors get hit etc

    CLOSED #101006617576

Case Noted. We share your concerns about making the City’s streets safer. Everyone should have a safe street where they feel comfortable and free from concerns of speeding cars. We are working to bring speed humps to our neighborhood streets, and it will take time to get this work done. Our program is being updated to better match the needs of the community. Reaching out to your neighborhood's ONS liaison is a great way to make your feedback heard as part of this process. We will continue to work to slow traffic and offer safety interventions across the City of Boston. We appreciate you sharing your feedback on your street and will include it as we continue strengthening our program.
