139 Tremont St, BostonPer constituent via contact form on 08/06/24: "To Whom It May Concern, I have been a resident of Beacon Hill for almost 30 years, having been born and raised here. I am horrified at the state of the Boston Common and what it has become these past few months. The homeless population is out of control, setting up encampments and trashing most of our beautiful park. Today, my dog almost stepped on an uncovered needle on the ground next to the gazebo. This is where residents, some of whom pay almost 40% in taxes, take their children to play safely, walk their dogs, and get their only taste of nature in the neighborhood. I no longer feel safe walking alone through the park at any time of day, and I am truly heartbroken and concerned with the lack of security being implemented to keep the common clean. This is not a place for people to set up tents and do drugs, which I now see as a common occurrence. What is going to be done about this? I have started communicating with others in the neighborhood and my sentiment is broadly shared. Best, Corinne Milbury of Mount Vernon St." | Case (SR) Type: [Homeless Issues] Referred To: [UNSHELTERED PERSONS]
