They have OVERLY salted this path for the small dusting of snow we got last night. And now it’s going to be there for days or worse washing off into the ground. This path is constantly over salted but this is a ridiculous amount of salt for a dusting of snow.

The photo is of Charlemont St in Dorchester. The fact that the salt wasn’t spread correctly it’s more ridiculous that the city salted the roads in the first place. I was out at 0530 hours and the sidewalks were all completely dried as was the road this was a complete waste of taxpayers money. Perhaps the Department Head who ordered the salting should be fired.

On Cambridge Ave in Allston, starting at the intersection with Lincoln St and ending at the intersection at North Harvard St, on the side of the street going towards Cambridge. The bike lane is an absolute mess right now with spill over of gravel from the construction/rail yard. It has been muddy and annoying for months, but since big snow melt is has been very gravelly (this might also be from plowing) -- it is very very difficult to bike through this without losing balance, and is a road I, and many others, need to bike through daily. Main issue: the bike lane has become covered in gravel. It is dangerous to ride on with the fast traffic nearby.

Excessive and unnecessary road salting. Four(!) salters have driven down this street in the last couple hours. It isn’t snowing - barely drizzling - and the temperature in Boston isn’t going to drop below freezing. What the heck is going on and how much money is the city blowing on this?!

Excessive salt from the truck coming out high and fast hit me (while I was well on the sidewalk), half way up my legs staining my pants and boots, getting in my boots and really startling me. If I had been closer I’d probably have been hit in the face. It seemed like overkill.

Street lighting control box knocked over perhaps due to plowing

Heath st and fisher ave. Around the rotary. BW&S called to report they need salting in this area due to a hydrant that was damaged and leaked water. The water is now frozen and needs some salting in this area. Requesting assistance with this matter. |
