30 Park Plz, Boston, Ma, 02116PLEASE READ - here’s a creative idea, at the bare minimum please ask the protestors to begin their protest at 7am on the OPPOSITE SIDE of the Hilton, NOT on the Statler Park side … seriously asking for the bare minimum here. Be reasonable and talk to the union leaders about this simple request. | Case (SR) Type: [BPD: Quality of Life] Referred To: [POLICE: AREA A-1]

10 Park Plz, Boston, Ma, 02116Noise outside the Park Plaza hotel is completely unacceptable. I understand these people have a right to protest, but that should NOT mean they’re above the law with respect to noise ordinances. The rest of us have rights too. | Case (SR) Type: [BPD: Quality of Life] Referred To: [POLICE: AREA A-1]

30 Park Plz, Boston, Ma, 02116Boston Park Plaza noise begins at 6:50am and proceeds to sporadically use foghorns up until 10pm - these are outside city mandated quiet hours in the area. Hotel customers stay at the hotel maybe 2-3 nights … I LIVE and WORK FROM HOME across the street - the strikers are not affecting the contract decisions-makers, they affect the FULL TIME RESIDENTS of the Arlington who pay high rent to live in the city. The Boston Park Plaza must be held responsible. … Seriously, do something. Ask them to stop using the horns, anything. Please. | Case (SR) Type: [BPD: Quality of Life] Referred To: [POLICE: AREA A-1]

30 Park Plz, Boston, Ma, 02116Please pass the following information along to Mayor Wu’s office regarding the protests at the Park Plaza, which are negatively impacting the rights, health, and wellbeing of residents. City officials and BPD are willing to enforce noise ordinances when it comes to their own homes, but will not stand up for residents who can no longer live in their homes near the Park Plaza. https://www.boston.gov/news/mayor-wu-files-ordinance-regarding-targeted-residential-picketing “Public protests at people’s homes must have reasonable limits. These demonstrations are not only causing stress to the families of elected officials, it is also hurting their neighbors, many of whom are seniors, persons with disabilities, veterans and young children,” said Boston City Council President Ed Flynn. “Now is the time to come together as a city and country to treat each other with empathy, respect and dignity.” | Case (SR) Type: [BPD: Quality of Life] Referred To: [POLICE: AREA A-1]

30 Park Plz, Boston, Ma, 02116The protestors at the Park Plaza have been using megaphones, whistles, and horns since 7 am and the noise is only getting louder for the residents who live here. BPD is sitting in their car doing nothing to enforce the noise ordinance. It’s not asking to much to simply request that the protestors not use horns and whistles. That’s all that residents are asking. | Case (SR) Type: [BPD: Quality of Life] Referred To: [POLICE: AREA A-1]

30 Park Plz, Boston, Ma, 02116The protesters at the Park Plaza began this morning at 7 am. The residents in the surrounding buildings have been listing to drums, cymbals, vuvuzelas, air horns, and whistles for over 12 hours a day for 2 weeks. To be clear, the government is allowed to impose time, place, and manner restrictions on free speech. The Noise Ordinance is such a restriction and applies to the protests. For the past 2 weeks, residents have submitted noise readings to the City of over 100 decibels. This is well-documented. BPD has confirmed that City Hall and Mayor Wu told them not to enforce the Ordinance. The Ordinance was passed by the MA legislature, and Mayor Wu does not have the authority to tell BPD not to enforce the law. The noise is a public nuisance and seriously impacting the health of residents and their ability to live and work in their apartments. The City at least owes the residents, as constituents, an explanation as to why their concerns, their families, their livelihoods, and wellbeing are being sacrificed as collateral damage. Enough is enough. | Case (SR) Type: [BPD: Quality of Life] Referred To: [POLICE: AREA A-1]

10 Park Plz, Boston, Ma, 02116The noise from the strike outside of the Boston Park Plaza Hotel is unbearable. I live across the street and the strikers wake me up every morning at 6:45am. They go all day into the night and use every type of instrument to make the most amount of noise possible. It is affecting both my sleep and my work when I work from home. This has to be stopped. | Case (SR) Type: [BPD: Quality of Life] Referred To: [POLICE: AREA A-1]
