128 Cushing Ave, Dorchester, Ma, 02125

"No Parking" sign requested for the small space between the 2 driveways that have been installed in the 2 properties of 128 Cushing Ave and 124 Cushing Ave, resulting in 6+ vehicles being removed from street parking. There are 3 condo units in the building of 128 Cushing Ave. and 3 condo units in the building next door at 124 Cushing Ave. In the time since each Condo Association had been established, each building had installed off street parking for each of the buildings, so that there is one assigned off street parking space for each of the 6 units in both associations, resulting in at least 6 vehicles being removed from the street parking over the years (note that sometimes it's even more vehicles such as the major snow storm this winter with 20+ inches of snow, whereby the association allowed other vehicles to park temporarily in the driveway(s) to help offset the issue of 20+ inches of snow on the street. The problem is that there is a small space on the street between the 2 properties, and generally no neighbor tries to park there as the space is very tight to fit a car, and on the sometimes occasion where a car parks there (typically someone who doesn't live in the neighborhood, or someone looking for a place to put their car on street cleaning day), the vehicle is almost always over one of our curb cuts, making it difficult for owners to get in and out of the driveways at 128 Cushing and 124 Cushing! Vehicles are typically too large to fit there which is why no neighbors on the street typically parks there (note our street often has abundant parking and parking isn't an issue on the street), however on the occasion when someone does park their car there, it's almost always over one of the curb cuts, making it not only difficult to get in and of the driveways, but it's also ends up being very dangerous as you can't see around the car blocking there to be able to see cars that often speed up and down Cushing Ave (cars go both ways up and down Cushing Ave, even though only one car can pass at a time in the middle of the road as it's too small for 2 vehicles to be coming up and down Cushing at the same time). This has almost caused multiple accidents when one of the 6 units owners between the 2 buildings have tried to get in and out of the driveways when there is a vehicle parked on the street in that small spot between the 2 driveways. (note that there have already been multiple accidents over the years of parked cars being hit on the street from vehicles speeding up or down Cushing). Note that when 128 Cushing Ave went through the approval process with the City of Boston to get the curb cut and driveway installed to be able to take multiple vehicles off the street parking, part of the original plan was that we were going to get a "no parking" type sign installed by the City. Unfortunately, we had never followed up when it wasn't done immediately after the new driveway(s) were installed, so finally getting around to contacting you about this issue, as it's been an on and off issue for a while. With street cleaning beginning again soon, we worry that once again, a person not in the neighborhood and looking for a parking spot for street cleaning day, will attempt to squeeze their vehicle into that small space, and then leave it there for a week or longer, and parked over one or the other curb cut and making it difficult for all 6 owners to safely get in and out of their driveways. I am attaching only a few photos here for your review. As you can see in photo 1 and 2, I have circled in red the small street space that we all (all 6 unit owners between the two properties) would like to follow up on having a sign put here for "no parking" so that it prevents one or both of our driveways from being blocked when vehicles inevitably are over the curb cuts, and also the serious safety concerns. Pictures 3 and 4 just happened. call 617-271-1013 to visit/review.

  • Illegal Parking

    97 115 Beverly St, Boston, Ma, 02114

The entire left lane (travel lane) on Beverly Street is filled with several unoccupied parked vehicles (some with all windows tinted - illegal in MA) including a mini bus. Because of the parking, traffic is at a stand still. If driver's of emergency vehicles needed to use Beverly Street to go to an emergency they wouldn't be able to get through because of vehicles parked in the left lane. Driver's of vehicles in the other travel lane would not be able to move. What's the purpose of NO STOPPING ANY TIME/TOW ZONE signs for that lane if it's not going to be enforced?
