Is there enough bike parking infrastructure for people to participate in biking to work? Do old office buildings downtown have secure bike parking rooms for employees? Are you giving out any sort of incentive to people to bike to work? Maybe gift cards to local bike shops if you bike to work? Or free tune up? Or city funding for more bike infrastructure?!

Case Noted. Thank you for providing your feedback regarding future bicycle infrastructure in Boston. Your comments have been shared with our bike infrastructure design team, and will be reviewed and incorporated as we work to make Boston streets more accessible to bicyclists and those who travel alongside them.

  • Tree or Stump Removal

2426 Centre St, Boston, MA 02132

    CLOSED #BCS-00186905

Noted. For the BPRD Urban Forestry Division to consider removing a healthy public street tree for this reason, we need proof that the trees roots have caused the damage to the sewer lines. Proof needs to include pictures and invoices from a plumbing contractor which show the sewer line having been repaired and after said repair the trees roots caused new/further damage. Until the documentation is provided and the issue is investigated by the City Arborist the tree cannot be removed as it is protected by state law MGL CH 87. Proof should be sent to 1010 Massachusetts Ave Boston, MA 02118 3rd floor. Attn: Urban Forestry Division or emailed to (Trees@boston.gov) Attn: Urban Forestry Division. It should also be noted that tree roots do not have the ability to break into a sewer pipe. They will however grow into an already broken/compromised sewer pipe. We need better ideas for protecting bike lanes. Please consider these options. The handles and foot rest at intersections will help people stop at the light. And the planters will help with the rainfall and pollutant issues Boston struggles with! Win Win!!!

Your comments have been shared with our bike infrastructure design team, and will be reviewed and incorporated as we work to make Boston streets more accessible to bicyclists and those who travel alongside them.

  • Tree or Stump Removal

31 Glencliff Rd, Boston, MA 02131

    CLOSED #BCS-00186776

Noted. All public street trees in the City of Boston and Massachusetts are protected by state law (MGL CH 87). The BPRD Urban Forestry Division is unable to remove a live and healthy public shade tree for the reason requested. The only way this tree could be removed for the reason requested is if the Public Works Department was planning to reconstruct all of Glencliff Road to make the sidewalks ADA compliant and to have public tree hearings for the possible removal of each shade tree on the street that is interfering with sidewalk passage. A case has been made to the Public Works Department (Case #101006603109) to inspect the sidewalk for repair.
