Almost got fucking killed by an e-bike going about 30 mph on the sidewalk. When are you going to regulate these things? THEY ARE LITERALLY MOTORCYCLES
CLOSED #101006285407Case Resolved. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand the importance of traffic safety and appreciate your efforts in keeping our streets safe. Ensuring Mopeds operate safely is an important issue. The City of Boston is undertaking cross-departmental efforts with BPD, BTD, the Mayor’s Policy team, Economic Opportunity and Inclusion, Immigrant Advancement and others to ensure we have a coordinated response. We have forwarded your report to our BTD Enforcement staff, who will investigate the issue and take appropriate action. Going forward, if you encounter any issues concerning mopeds in your area, please contact Bos311, where our team will investigate once the request is received. In case of any emergency, please notify the Boston Police Department. Please note that according to state law, mopeds are permitted to travel on bike lanes without registration. Also, mopeds can be parked on sidewalks, but they should be parked parallel to the walkway and should not obstruct pedestrian traffic. Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.
