Intersection Of N Harvard St And Western Ave, Allston, Ma

The bike lane on N Harvard St SB at Western Ave is being used as a right turn lane by about a third of right-turning cars. Not only does this endanger cyclists in the lane, it also causes mear crashes daily between right-turning cars in the bike lane and right-turning cars in the general lane. Please fix with concrete barriers or bright orange barriers to prevent this behavior.

  • Requests for Street Cleaning

201 S Huntington Ave, Jamaica Plain, Ma, 02130

    S. Huntington Ave. is a mess. Broken flex posts and plastic scattered everywhere. I know street cleaning hasn’t officially started yet for the season, but could you get someone out there? I love the protected bike lanes, but the flex posts really are problematic.

Intersection Of Anthony Rip Valenti Way And N Washington St, Boston, Ma

Im trying to map out my bike route to get to TD garden and I’ve driven through this intersection before and it makes me very nervous to have to turn left from North Washington Street on my bike to get to the Blue Bike station on Valenti Way. The bike lane is all the way on the right side and there is a right turn bus lane, how is the bike lane supposed to turn left without getting hit by the right turn bus lane ?! Any time that I’ve gotten out of the bike lane to turn left from the car lane I’ve been verbally assaulted for doing so. So I will only ride in bike lanes- I will not ride in car lanes. Please advise!

    CLOSED #101006568240

Case Noted. The best way to operate in this situation is to pull slightly onto the sidewalk at the crosswalk and wait for the pedestrian signal to change so you can cross to the other side of the street as a pedestrian for easier access to Valenti Way. Your comments have been shared with our bike infrastructure design team, and will be reviewed and incorporated as we work to make Boston streets more accessible to bicyclists and those who travel alongside them.
