Possibly intoxicated driving. This driver was riding down the bike lane in the opposite direction and almost crashed directly into me (on a bike). They saw me right in front of them, closed their eyes and swerved wildly to avoid me.

  • Pruning Request

484 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02115

Please trim hanging tree branches in the Beacon Street bike lane between Hereford and Mass. There are low dangling limbs approaching Mass Ave that have hit my helmet and I’m concerned someone’s eyes will be damaged. They are seemingly dead with no leaves, so easy to miss until they hit you! Thanks so much!

    CLOSED #BCS-00212313

Resolved. Hanging branch in bike lane removed by SH.

BTD planners and engineers: Since we seem to be unable to enforce our parking rules, it is time for physical barriers to prevent people from storing their cars improperly.

    CLOSED #101006650841

Case Noted. Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this matter. The City of Boston is currently working to replace and restore bike lane protection infrastructure throughout the city via a multitude of programs, including exchanging the placement of parking and bike lanes, and the implementation of novel infrastructure like ZECLA(Zebra) strips. 1 City Hall Plz, Boston, Ma, 02108

Many 311 reports about the removal of protective bike lane infrastructure throughout the city receive the same template response, which refers out to a webpage that does not provide any information about when and where protective infrastructure will be built and does not seem to have been updated for months. That page states that construction will occur in just a few days where it does occur. Could the City provide a meaningful update and plan regarding when and where it will reinstall protective infrastructure?

    CLOSED #101006650166

Case Resolved. Our team will provide a concrete timeline for these changes when one is feasible to create.

  • Broken Sidewalk

232 Tremont St, Boston, Ma, 02116

Please add protective bike infrastructure to Stuart Street. Trucks routinely park in the lane due to lack of barriers: paint alone is not a protected lane. This creates danger for all road users.

    CLOSED #101006649716

BTD and the mayor have implemented a design that was never presented to the public. This is not the design that was accepted and does not follow any safety standards. The two way bike lane after comm ave leads to a one way with no place for the counterflow bike traffic to go. The original design was a two way bike lane all the way to copley square. What is wrong with this admin?

    CLOSED #101006649652

Case Resolved. Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this matter. Our team absolutely understands the need for further protective bike lane infrastructure and expanded lane striping along Dartmouth Street. The restoration of bike lane striping on the blocks between Boylston and Comm Ave, which includes a northbound bike lane, was done to maintain functionality while we continue to explore design changes through the Dartmouth Street Safety and Mobility Project. Dartmouth St. was repaved and re-striped at this time so that our team could take advantage of an optimal scheduling window prior to the Marathon and major public events planned for the summer. The current arrangement of bike lanes and protective infrastructure is not the planned final product of the Dartmouth Street Safety and Mobility Project. If there is any additional information we can provide, please let us know.
