Two homeless people sleeping together in our beautiful park in North End.

At the north end on the west side of the bridge, by the railing post that says 2000, there is a large triangular sinkhole in the sidewalk. The concrete is still in place but is shifting downward, with the gap increasing noticeably in recent weeks. It's a bit alarming, as I'm not sure what's under this sidewalk segment -- it's right next to a round grated drain cover. It's also creating a major tripping hazard. There is an orange cone near it, but I was unable to move the cone into the sinkhole as it seems to be anchored. The cone indicates that the location may be on a repair list, but I think it needs to be expedited. |
