Residential Trash out Illegally
Hello 311: I filed a report about one week ago and called the same day to see if inspectors were nearby so that they might be dispatched. The very kind person that answered the phone encouraged us to continue filing. I had largely given up as it seemed futile. Needless to say, appreciated the encouragement. Prior to knowing about the 311 website, I e-mailed public works employees directly about the trash being left out as well as called. The problem has gotten worse with many people at times leaving trash in front of our house. Installed a ring camera with a good view of that area. Picture 1 is from the trash that was laid out last time when we filed the report. Mr. White has particular blue bags and often leaves identifying information visible in the trash as in this case. I have a still of him placing that trash at that time. Picture 2 is a still from a movie of I believe Mr. White (same bags) dropping the trash off this AM at about 6AM. Picture 3 is an example of what it has been like recently--at times we see a dozen bags. I am filing this after the trash has been picked up today in keeping with the advice I received earlier this week, i.e., to make city aware what a chronic problem this has become. People (commercial and personal vehicles) constantly park illegally in front of the house--we never filed a report b/c we assume the city tolerates that given the limited parking and our goal isn't to bother 311 with many issues. The trash situation is problematic. Mr. White lives right across the street and should put the trash in front of his building. Others we've caught come from Grove Street and other nearby addresses. Can the city fine Mr. White, or perhaps put up signs (I'm reluctant to do it personally as I see how people respond to signs about their dog poop) in the neighborhood reminding people of their trash obligations, perhaps something else. I'm really not sure what the city could do but Mr. W is a chronic offender--we've sent pictures many times, the problem is escalating (pic 3), all kinds of stuff then spills onto the street and it becomes a big mess. I personally observe many additional code violations with boxes etc. We appreciate whatever help you/the city can give us. I am happy to share the video footage from today if helpful. For whatever reason I couldn't upload. Thank you in advance.
