3 Westerly St, Jamaica Plain, Ma, 02130Rodent infestation (large rats). Construction/conversion of Blessed Sacrament after being abandoned for over a decade and renovation of 10 Westerly St after being uninhabited for several years possibly the issue all the rats have fully migrated to our street. Most likely the church property and possibly 10 Westerly St were the rats' dwelling until construction began. Also, several property owners on our street don't store their trash properly in barrels or leave them uncovered. They have been given citations in the past but nothing changes. There is a trash barrel at the back of Rizzo's pizza that's always uncovered. Corner of Centre and Westerly St at the back of the property (parking lot area). Similar occurrence at 2, 3 and 4 Westerly St. When walking down the street at night you can see at least a dozen rats scurry away in the area of those properties or running back and forth and crossing the street. Overnight the rats ripped several flimsy bags left on the sidewalk in front of 3 Westerly St. and have continued doing it throughout the entire night so that trash is now dispersed all over the sidewalk. This truly is out of hand. There are several restaurants on Centre St within a couple of blocks. This could become an absolute nightmare for restaurants if it hasn't already or just hasn't been reported or found by inspectors. Another neighbor has a dog and doesn't bother picking up the poop from their backyard and it seems that's another big attraction for the rats. Other neighbors don't care about maintaining their backyards and have excessive overgrowth of plants, grass and/or weeds. Please help before this becomes an unsolvable crisis the way it has in other cities. I'm reporting what I see on my St, Westerly St., but it would be shocking if the rats aren't advancing further as it's clear their numbers are increasing. I can't attach, but have video proof if you require it so you see it's not an exaggeration. Once again, please help. Thank you.

75 Peterborough St, Boston, Ma, 02215The heavy growth landscaping extending all along the perimeter of the Landmark Square Apt block - 75 Peterborough St is infested with rat burrows and large colonies under them. At dusk they become active and are all around the building's sidewalks as they scurry to invade neighboring properties. In fact, there are occasions after Fenway Park events with crowds gathering on the Peterborough St sidewalk along the 75 Peterborough St fence to watch in amazement the number of rats playing around the landscaping. I kid you not. This isn't amusing to us living here who call this area home. Ridding our own property in nearby 86 and 82 Jersey St of rats becomes impossible because they invade our greenspace across the street. We've taken drastic measures to eliminate them with mesh netting under the ground, traps and baits. There are none living on our property anymore. However, they are crossing over from their hidden locations under all the ivy around 75 Peterborough. They have bait stations, but this isn't enough to stop them as they reproduce rapidly and spread throughout the area. The landscaping at 75 Peterborough needs to be altered so prevent the rodents from hiding under the growth. As it stands now this is a neighborhood health hazard as they harbor hundreds or thousands of rats under their perimeter. The infestation has also extended to the landscaping around the 80 Peterborough St block near restaurant row across the street. They are all over the place living under ground as well. The City needs to demand that these property owners take corrective action to eliminate the safe harbors they are providing the local rat population.

115 F St, South Boston, Ma, 02127After our previous report was handled, we are continuing to see rats outside rummaging through these neighbors trash barrels and illegally store trash. They are increasing in number in the last month or so and we have never had an issue with rats until recently. What can be done to ensure these neighbors are securing their trash appropriately?
