    290 A 290 Beacon St, Boston, Ma, 02116

Dear Boston Inspectional Services Team, I am writing to formally report what I believe to be an unsafe short-term rental property located at: 290 Beacon Street, Unit 3A, Boston, MA 02116 This property was booked as short-term accommodation through Booking.com under the listing name “2 Bedroom Unit in the Heart of Back Bay.” Our stay dates were 2 April to 5 April. During our stay, we experienced clear signs of an active rodent infestation, including: • Fresh rodent droppings found inside the accommodation • Loud squealing and movement noises within the walls / ceiling during the night • Ongoing activity severe enough that we were forced to vacate the property urgently in the middle of the night and secure alternative accommodation This created serious hygiene and safety concerns and made the property uninhabitable. We also later identified previous public reviews on another platform referring to “critters in the wall,” which suggests this may have been an ongoing unresolved issue. We have photographic and video evidence of the conditions. I can provide the video evidence separately as there are clear sounds of squealing and movement in the ceilings and walls. Given the above, I respectfully request that this property be investigated for: • Habitability / housing code concerns • Rodent infestation / sanitation issues • Compliance as a short-term rental property As I am based in the United Kingdom, email is the easiest contact method for me. Please let me know if further information or evidence is required. Kind regards, Sahil Shah United Kingdom
