New tree(s) request. Woodstock Ave from Bellvista to Kelton. It’s all a tow zone with no parking currently. Adding trees wouldn’t take away any legal parking. Seems like since it’s likely owned by the city, the curb could be extended and trees planted along this side of the block? I’d love to to see some flowering cherry trees like at 313 Summit Avenue. They are pink, fluffy, and absolutely flourishing in this neighborhood! Adding trees to Woodstock Avenue from 60 Woodstock Avenue to Kelton Street would add shade and would be some gentle traffic calming.

Bakersfield and Annapolis St. both get extremely hot during the summer, which is partially due to the lack of tree cover. Residents near that corner (myself included) could greatly benefit from the cooling effects provided by greater canopy cover. Those benefits are especially important considering that it is a low-income, historically redlined neighborhood that faces disproportionate economic and health consequences as a result of this historical environmental injustice. 25 Bakersfield is currently a parking lot used by very few residents. There are usually only about 5-10 cars parked there at any given time, although the lot has space for at least 20 cars.
