  • Upgrade Existing Lighting

Intersection Of Neponset Valley Pkwy And Waterloo St, Hyde Park, Ma

Problem: [Constituent states via Contact Form on 10/2: I am writing to bring to your attention an issue that has been affecting the safety and quality of life in our community—specifically, the lack of adequate street lighting going towards the end of Neponset Valley Parkway. Over the past few months, I and several of my neighbors have noticed that the streetlights on that block are either malfunctioning or not providing sufficient lighting during the evening and nighttime hours. This has made the area quite dark and has raised concerns about pedestrian safety, as well as the potential for accidents or increased crime. I don't know if this has been already reported to the city’s maintenance services but we would like to see improvements. As a proud Boston resident, I am sure you can understand the importance of well-lit streets for public safety and community well-being. We would be very grateful if you could look into this matter and ensure that our streetlights are properly maintained or upgraded. Improved lighting would go a long way in making our neighborhood feel safer and more secure for all residents, especially during the darker months ahead. Thank you in advance for your time and attention to this issue. I look forward to hearing from you and hope for a prompt resolution. Sincerely,]
