Currently I live at 509 E 3rd street and park in the rear driveway of the home, which is located on Linley Terr. Cars can park on this road and often do so too close to the driveway. I do see on the Boston.gov site that cars are not allowed to park within 2 feet of any driveway on either side. Since cars are almost always parked within 2 feet of our driveway, making it difficult to park we are hoping to have a sign installed which indicants that they may not park beyond the 2 feet. **Subject: Pedestrian Safety Concern – Near Miss at Crosswalk Adjacent to 732 South Street, Roslindale Square** On November 2, 2026, at approximately 2:00 PM, I was walking across the marked pedestrian crosswalk adjacent to Benjamin Moore Wallpaper City, located at 732 South Street, Roslindale, MA 02131, when I was nearly struck by a truck. This was an extremely close call. I was crossing in the designated pedestrian crosswalk, and the truck came sufficiently close that I believe a serious injury could easily have resulted. Although no collision occurred, I believe this incident raises important questions about pedestrian safety at this particular crossing in Roslindale Square. I am asking the City of Boston and the Boston Transportation Department to: 1. Investigate the circumstances of this near miss and assess pedestrian safety conditions at this specific crosswalk. 2. Evaluate vehicle speeds, driver visibility, pedestrian visibility, signage, traffic signals, and crosswalk design. 3. Determine whether additional safety measures are warranted, including improved pedestrian signals, traffic calming, enhanced crosswalk markings, or other engineering interventions. 4. Review whether there have been other pedestrian safety incidents or complaints at this location. I am reporting this because I want to help prevent someone from being seriously injured or killed at this crossing. A near miss should be an opportunity to identify and correct a dangerous condition before a tragedy occurs. I would appreciate confirmation that this report has been received and forwarded to the appropriate transportation safety personnel, along with information about any planned investigation or follow-up. They have dug a lot of burrows against the building. At night there are at least 20+ rats running around in the alley back there. The dumpsters in the alley are often open. Requesting inspection.]

The property is currently undergoing extensive renovations, and I have serious concerns regarding its structural stability. The building appears to be leaning to the right, and the remaining exterior brick wall looks severely deteriorated and potentially unstable. I am particularly concerned that if this wall were to collapse, falling bricks and debris could cause significant damage to the neighboring property and potentially result in serious injuries. There are children living directly next door, making this an especially urgent safety concern. I have already contacted the property owner directly to express my concerns about the condition of the wall and the potential danger it poses. Unfortunately, I have not received a response, and given the apparent condition of the structure, I feel it is necessary to bring this matter to the attention of the appropriate city authorities. I am requesting an urgent inspection by Boston Inspectional Services to determine whether the remaining brick wall and surrounding structure are safe, particularly as demolition and construction continue. I would also like the city to verify that the remaining masonry wall is adequately supported, that appropriate structural safeguards are in place, and that the renovation is proceeding in accordance with approved building permits and structural engineering plans. I have attached photographs documenting the conditions that prompted my concerns. My intention is not to interfere with the renovation but to ensure that the work is being performed safely and that neighboring properties and residents are not being placed at unnecessary risk. Given the potential consequences of a structural failure, I would appreciate prompt attention to this matter and confirmation that the appropriate inspections have been conducted.
