BTD just drove by and did fuck all !!!! This city only cares about cars and rich developers and lab space. Pathetic.

April 7, 2026 If not for the work crew outside of 100 Cambridge Street, Boston, today, I may have been seriously injured. All my fault, by the way. When I exit Bowdoin each morning, I cross over the 2 sections of Cambridge Street. Yes, I know that there are crosswalks on either end of this section of the street at both Bowdoin and Somerset. It is simply quicker to cross right there. In the middle of the street, there is an “island” or small stretch that separates the two sections of Cambridge Street. This is NOT a sidewalk. There are what looks like old hoses (old sprinkler system?) in that island. They protrude out of the dirt, and they are a huge trip hazard. After years of crossing in that way, it finally happened. I tripped on a hose. I stumbled, screamed, and furiously scanned my eyes to the right to look at oncoming traffic that surely would have either hurt or killed me. There they were. The work crew. They were blocking the oncoming traffic (either 1 or 2 lanes of it). Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, work crew. Thank you City of Boston for having the work crew there. I write, respectfully, to ask that the antiquated hoses be removed. For the first time ever, I will use the “senior” card. I am rapidly getting toward my senior years, and I am currently 61 years old. I will be working for years to come, and it is unlikely that I will start to cross at the crosswalks now. Homeless encampment. The person who stays outside Panera Bread restaurant from 5pm to 8am if the City wants to reach out and assist.

What a mess. Parked illegally. They should deliver like they used to and like EVERYONE else. What if UPS, FEDEX, USPS start parking illegally and leaving large packages everywhere. Why is the city allowing this?

It’s rather comical at the amount of illegal parked vehicles in South Boston yet no PEO to be seen until street cleaning , what’s up with that ??? But yet up the taxes and get half the services

Been years like this and no one will provide the Basic City Service of resurfacing bike lanes. You didn't even do it before new lanes were installed (and gone are the days now) unless you were repaving the whole street anyway. This creates 2 terrible choices for someone on a bike: veer into traffic or ride through a 3" deep hole.

You removed the posts. You're very clearly not providing the basic maintenance or working on improving separation. Such a hollow, boilerplate response to others' reports. You wouldn't remove the posts until you were prepared to install the replacement if that were really your aim. And you would be transparent about your plans with proactive communication. Instead you're steamrolling the community. Put the posts back. We're in danger!!!

Please see pictures regarding Case ID BCS-00188453 . I live at 66 Perkins St, Boston MA 02130. My car is scraping bottom despite setting it it on the extra high setting when going from the street to my driveway. The pictures show where the water for example is pooling. Is there anything that I can do or the city can do? I am happy to pay for it if not too expensive. It has already caused damage to my car so hopefully something can be done. Private parking lot has placed construction cones in the road again to obstruct traffic and pedestrians. This is illegal and it is a safety hazard. The city needs to do something to stop this behavior and needs to remove the construction cones immediately.
