Nearly every single day (including right now) at like 5/5:15pm there’s this seemingly illegal jitney vehicle parked alongside the back of the Boston Public Market that steals a lane of traffic at a high traffic rush hour, creating unsafe circumstance for Pedestrians, MBTA buses, bikes, and all other traffic. Blocking of public parking when permit is not valid. To my understanding the permit is only good from 7 am to 4 pm and not to block the road outside of that time.

March 31, 2026 Dear Mayor Wu: I am saddened to be walking near Salem and Prince street yesterday at 5:52 pm. after driving around to find parking for 20 minutes. I observed a construction permit between 7 am and 4 pm but the Salem construction person decided to block the road anyway after 4 pm. Having pubic parking available is a necessity and people who use public parking for personal private use should be documented and fined like others who get tickets and are fined because people like this are stealing public spaces. This is the essence of the problem along with conflicting parking signs. Who put up parking by permit along with 2 hour parking on the same sign post? The bakery or the government. I already reported this months ago. The issue yesterday and today is compounded by Eversource taking up many parking spaces with no permit notice and taking additional parking spaces. The construction crew on Peterborough St. in Fenway are very disrespectful and disruptive to the community. Every morning I hear them screaming outside to the window and causing very loud, unnecessary noise. They slam their equipment on the ground making the entire street wake up. I have had instances where I was trying to walk down the street and the construction workers try to bother me and make me feel uncomfortable. PLEASE be more considerate of the community and STOP WORKING WITH THIS CONTRACTOR. They are not good at their job, taking weeks and weeks to patch up one spot in the street.
