Inspector, I think we found where the rats are nesting! As noted in previous 311s (101005279793, 101005268666, etc) there is a lot of activity around 3 Islington Terrace and 5 Islington Terrace (in the front yards as well as the alleyway behind Islington Terrace, where there are tunnels and chew holes in the trash barrels). 5 Islington Terrace has several active burrows in the front yard (please see photo), which go under the playground of the Jackson Mann School. Is it possible to use the Burrow Rx machine and/or make sure there is an active extermination contract at the school? In past years this was a hot corner for rats, with an active tunnel by the telephone pole next to the school parking lot, and ran into the back yard of 7 Islington St and along the fence line planters in the backyard of 7 Islington St. As always, thanks so much.

I arrived home from work at 10:15 PM and sat at my desk to answer emails. An hour later, I saw a shadow at my foot, looked down, and saw that it was caused by a rat. I screamed and jumped on my chair, and the rat walked right, toward the window that faces the courtyard. I called the landlord over a dozen times before calling the police and animal control, both of which told me it was ultimately the landlord's issue to maintain. Since I have so many ongoing issues with Mr. Kelleher, some of which have dated back to August, I'm not surprised that he hasn't responded to me—-and yet this is now the second time I've seen a rat on the property (in October, I saw a rat outside; when I notified the landlord, he didn't believe me, which required a follow-up inspection from ISD). I had a friend, who owns a beagle, come over, and he (the friend) uncovered two large, gaping holes along my floor that'd been covered by carpet—-one as deep as his arm, which is where he believes the rat came from. The dog also barked and acted suspicious act both of the holes, which led my friend and I to believe that the rat exited and entered at either spot. I'm happy to provide additional information and photos if needed. | Move in date: [2012-08-07] Owner's name and contact info: [James Kelleher Phone: 617-968-7555 Email: james.w.kelleher@gmail.com] Occupants name and contact info: [Karyn Polewaczyk Phone: 978.618.8608 Email: karyn.polewaczyk@gmail.com] Type of insect or rodent: [Rat]
