Illegal Dumping
Constituent states "The residents of 4935 Washington Street in West Roxbury are illegally dumping their waste into the dumpster located at 4925 Washington Street. This multi-family house is occupied by tenants whose landlord has wrongly informed them that they have permission to use the waste area at 4925 Washington Street—a private property whose trash removal is handled by a private contractor. As a result, our building has been cited and fined by the City on multiple occasions due to the dumpster being overfilled, particularly during tenant move-outs from 4935, where large items such as mattresses and furniture have been discarded improperly. The property management team and the Homeowners Association at 4925 Washington Street have repeatedly requested that the landlord or property manager at 4935 secure their own waste disposal service. Unfortunately, there has been no indication that this issue is being addressed, and it has persisted for over a year. Could you please investigate this matter and assist us in enforcing proper waste management compliance at 4935 Washington Street? We would appreciate any enforcement action or guidance to resolve this ongoing issue and prevent further violations." https://spot-boston-res.cloudinary.com/image/upload/v1752239087/boston/production/enuda88hlpuahyyefle4.jpg#spot=93db52e6-4946-40d1-aae6-2bc93e3109b1 | Witnessed incident: [Yes] Case related to commercial waste: [No]
