Filthy mattress on sidewalk for days with an orange ticket on it. I don’t know what the ticket is for but the mattress needs to be removed. This is rental property, owner doesn’t live there so isn’t likely to take any action. This building is a constant source of issues for the neighborhood.

I am writing to report a case of illegal dumping. On the corner of Cummings Rd and Egremont St in Brighton, there have been several cases of mattress dumpings. This has occurred over the course of several months, often with 2-4 mattresses left on the street corner. Most recently, around 8 mattresses were left at this street corner. I am concerned with the sheer number of mattresses that have been left here over the last six months, as it seems to indicate nefarious activity. While it has occurred on several occasions, I only have photos from today, March 9, and January 9. I’m not sure if this is the place to do this, but I’m wondering if I should just cancel my mattress pick up for tomorrow due to the fact that there’s still a lot of cleanup that needs to be done due to the storm and it’s not important that my mattress gets picked up, however I didn’t realize I had to cancel it by noon today so I’m not sure if I should still try to put the mattress out or not? We are facing an increasingly serious situation in Lower Roxbury that requires the City’s immediate attention. As cleanup efforts continue around the Mass and Cass area, groups of unhoused individuals are relocating into Lower Roxbury—particularly in the vicinity of 90 Windsor Street—where there appears to be little to no oversight from city services or law enforcement. Since May, two unhoused men have been residing on a public bench near 90 Windsor Street. For over six months, they have occupied the area while accumulating large amounts of trash, stored in shopping carts and scattered throughout the surrounding space. The resulting conditions are unsanitary, with an overwhelming foul odor, and the volume of debris continues to grow as time passes. With the onset of colder weather, the situation has escalated.
