I would appreciate it if someone from ISD could determine if this property is illegally engaging in short term rentals. There have been a couple incidents over the last week including one that required ambulance, police and fire intervention this morning that suggest short term lodging. As far as I can tell this property does not have a STR permit, is not owner occupied, and remains owned by the same individual who was at the helm during a fatal shooting of the innkeeper in 2019.

I just move 2 days ago to the apartment and the hot water is not working, the window is broken and I can open that, the closet is broken to, the apartment doesn’t have a emergency exit.

starting since 11:30pm to now 1:22am this group of people have been obnoxiously loud outside my apartment complex and will not stop even after being asked.

Moving in additional people into already over-occupied home. 19 Cowing. Multiple reports have been filed in past & today, currently adding to occupancy of crowded house.

Water has been leaking from the ceiling of my apartment since 8/14, and has gotten exponentially worse as of 8/20. Despite constant contact with my landlord to get repairs done or even a timeline, she has been unable to reach, asking us to clean up the mess and overall shows no interest in the unsanitary and uninhabitable effects this water is causing. The ceilings in our living room and bedroom are entirely soaked making us worried about mold, and the bedroom ceiling has cracks in it and sagging plaster, worrying us that it will fall with the next rain. Our landlord has offered zero remedy for this, and we seem to be left to our own devices to figure this out, as it seems it will be the new normal. We are unable to use a bedroom and the living room in our apartment, and are worried about what will happen when it rains next.

Potentially unauthorized/illegal Airbnb next to my apartment. My landlord was not notified of the property becoming an Airbnb (which is required per Massachusetts law) and the Airbnb is creating a safety issue and major noise disturbances. See attached for screenshot of the listing - address is 142 w 8th st, apt #2 (upstairs unit). They also have regular occurrence of trash violations at this property because the trash can is left outside all the time.

Unit 1 landlord is not registered and does not get inspections. Property is poorly maintained and unsafe. Landlord refuses to make requested repairs.

Daily new out of state plates, illegal short term rental
