The entire Branchfield St. in Dorchester needs to be cleaned up. It has been overgrown for years. This is City property. You cannot see the curb or telephone poles, and the weeds are overtaking cable wires, city street lights, and destroying healthy trees. This is a high pedestrian location with the Neponset trail, MBTA parking lot, and MBTA trolly stop. Per our neighbors, requests have been made and cancelled by 311 without further explanation. Please send crew to clean this up as soon as possible. I am sharing pictures of current state and what the street looked like years ago when you could see the curb. I am happy to provide additional pictures of past vs current state if needed.

The sidewalk cracks in question at 23 Winship Street were present before any tree pit sidewalk cutting had taken place, as seen in this attached inspection photo taken by a City Arborist on 3/4/25. The sidewalk cracks can also be seen present in October of 2020 using Google Street View. The new tree pit has been installed to where the new tree will be planted at minimum 10' from the streetlight, which meets the City of Boston's planting specifications. CLOSED #101005874579Noted. The city of Boston does not maintain trees on private property or remove downed limbs on private property. Property owner will need to call the utility company whose lines are down as well as a private tree care company to remove the downed limbs.
