I have a boot on my truck and when I look up my reg number online it won't give me a total amount due for parking tickets to be removed only says I have to go in town to pay, my problem is I don't know how much I owe to get this thing removed

    CLOSED #101003213160

Case Resolved. Thank you for contacting 311! Any concerns regarding parking tickets or boot removal can be verified at www.boston.gov or contact the parking clerk's office Mon-Fri, 9a-4:30pm at 617-635-4410.

Please cancel ticket for Lic # 113 RS2 given today 3pm. Meter maid gave my neighbor a ticket for parking in front of her own driveway. She parks there to enable Sumner School teachers to have an extra spot to park . I told the person that the car belonged to the homeowner but the ticket was already written. An address check by the meter maid would have verified what I told her and she ignored. Please cancel this ticket. Our neighborhood is full of illegally parked cars but this was not one!

    CLOSED #101003213047

Case Invalid. Ticket was validly issued. Vehicles are not allowed to park in front of a driveway, even if it is their own. Parking enforcement officers do not have access to registry lookup, as that is a State database. Anyone wishing to appeal a ticket can do some, and more information can be found here: https://www.boston.gov/departments/parking-clerk/how-appeal-parking-ticket. However, ticket was correctly issued and will not be voided.

Hi. I arrived to park in zone 978 and tried to use the app to pay for parking, it would not allow me to pay and indicated to check signage. There is nothing that says on any sign that vehicles can't park here except before and after Red Sox games. I'm sure there is no ball game today. In fact, I park here quite often and it's always ok. The street is full of cars-all who have tickets for What I am sure is the same thing. Use change? I didn't think of that until now-in any event I didn't have change...nor do I carry change as everything is card driven and so simple. Please take a look at these meters...it will save us and the parking clerk a significant amount of time -Thank you so much!

Constituent reports that he was ticketed (#759882944) for parking in a private space in an off-street spot that he rents from the actual owner. The ticket said that he was parking on a sidewalk when that off street area doesn't have a sidewalk. He was assisted by the supervisor at the parking clerk, and she said that the ticket was indeed a mistake and should be taken care of by someone above her. However, now the constituent is being called in for a hearing for a ticket he shouldn't have been given in the first place. He would lose work hours to go to the hearing and he is also busy with his newborn baby and two jobs as well. | Case (SR) Type: [BPD: Traffic/Parking] Referred To: [Boston 311]

  • Constituent reports rude service from a female caller from the Parking Clerk's office at 10:45am. She says the worker was abrupt and rude and unwilling to look for information in order to help her. Constituent reports that the worker was immediately trying to put her over to other departments when she could have done the work herself. She also said that the worker rudely told her to go search information on google. The next issue is that the office of the parking clerk is not updated with their information and keep recharging people for tickets that they have already paid off. Constituent is upset because her birthday is this month and she needs to renew her license. However, she gets told she has tickets she hasn't paid off even though she has receipts proving that she has. | Case (SR) Type: [BPD: Traffic/Parking] Referred To: [Boston 311]

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR RESIDENT PERMIT PARKING ON PLEASANT STREET IN DORCHESTER...I realize that in the past a petition had to be signed by an overwhelmingly majority in order for it to be considered. Can we please revamp that policy since everything is getting developed and the parking situation for those of us with no driveway and register our car legally here can park in the street remotely close to our house please? There are out of state plates on a daily basis that park on the street. Can we please make parking prohibited from 6PM - 8AM? That shouldn't ruffle too many feathers. AND CAN WE PLEASE GET A VISITOR PARKING PASS, ONE PER HOUSEHOLD LIKE OTHER CITIES IN METRO BOSTON? Let's catch these policies up to the parking needs in the neighborhood....thank you!

    CLOSED #101003195535

Case Resolved. BTD has updated the policy to request resident parking, but still require a community invovlement/petition process. Please see here for more information: https://www.boston.gov/departments/parking-clerk/how-petition-resident-parking.

I am a 20 year resident of Boston and work at Boston Children's Hospital and own two properties in the city. Today I was harassed by a Dept of Parking vehicle like never before. I went around the block waiting for my wife. When I pulled in front to pick her up, he flashed his siren to tell me to move at which point I did. The traffic light turned red and I was waiting for the green light to proceed. He came out of his vehicle and slammed a parking ticket on my windshield in front of my wife and kids in a passive aggressive manner after I moved my vehicle. He scared my wife and kids who was startled and started crying. He needs to be disciplined and fired for this harassment. I am protesting my ticket. His badge number is 137. The violation number is 761016535 Thanks Nirav Desai 617-306-7378

Case Noted. Case given to supervisor for follow up. BTD has received your complaint and will look into the situation and determine any next steps. Hi - so consistently, every morning between 7-8am, all of the visitor spots fill up with cars from all over the place (not just in our neighborhood) with people parking for the day for free and walking to pick up the bus downtown on Summer Street. I watch it time and time again. I don't think that is the intention of these parking spaces. I noticed that other neighborhoods with resident parking spots near the T have different hours for non residents in order to prevent this. Can you look into this as an option for our street? Thanks.

    CLOSED #101003179423

Case Noted. Resident Parking restrictions posted in the area have hours set at the request of the community. If there is a desire to change/add hours, there is a review process that involves the community, BTD and Neighborhood Services. More information on that process can be found here: https://www.boston.gov/departments/parking-clerk/how-petition-resident-parking.
