General Traffic Engineering Request
Intersection Of Boylston St And Park Dr And Brookline Ave, Boston, MaLast week, a new traffic pattern with bike lines and parking spots was implemented on Boylston St between Ipswich St and Brookline Ave. This new pattern is quite concerning, particularly at the west end with the intersection with Boylston and Brookline Ave. This is a major throughway for the hospital systems and other businesses. For example, when traveling westbound on Boylston, there is now no place for cars to go since there are several drivers trying to make a left on to Brookline, some drivers going "straight" or soft right to Riverway/Park Ave and then finally a hard right on to Brookline ave. All of this crammed into two lanes with a short distance between brookline ave intersection and Kilmarnock intersection. Moreover, this is a mixed residential and commercial with several cars illegally idling or cars trying to park. It makes absolutely no sense and just creates more difficulty for us who live in the neighborhood. I understand accommodating more bike lines, however, in this area we are so fortunate to have the Muddy River green space around Park Drive and Fenway. If the city intends to keep the bike line, the parking spaces on Boylston need to be removed in order to accommodate the bike line, not take away car driving space in an already crammed area. This is an immense issue not just for daily commutes, but will be a major headache during Red Sox games when traffic in the neighborhood is already a nightmare. |

Intersection Of Leo M Birmingham Pkwy And Western Ave And Soldiers Field Rd, Brighton, MaThe only ?No Turn On Red? sign at the northbound intersection of Leo M Birmingham Parkway and Western Ave is a full car length behind the stop line for the intersection. Many cars stop briefly at the line, which is beyond the ?no turn on red? sign, and then continue right on red. There should be an additional sign across the intersection on the median or opposite traffic-light post that is visible when one stops at the line. | Case (SR) Type: [Mass DCR] Referred To: [Mass DCR]
